Inside 9 Months | BABY DEVELOPMENT Tips

My boy hit 9 months!!! 😭💖 Omg guyyyys I swear after he hit 4 months Time sky rocketed ⏭🚀 Ayy mah baby He’s doing so much now.. You know what I mean? Haha he tries to grab a hold of things and plants his lil feet on the ground and bounces his legs 😙 Little rascal 💕 With development, comes learning. Such as:

Playing With Your Baby

Now, of course we do play with them on a daily basis whether it’s playing cars, princesses, plush toys, etc. BUT What I mean is, engaging with them; converstaing with your baby in the same tone as you would with a friend. Ask them questions revolving their activity like, “are you having fun? Are you enjoying playtime? tummy time? Are you hungry?” Engage and play with them! At the end of the day, our babies understand us, and their environment because they’re people too. 💖 ✊ And of course try to switch up with the baby talk! (If you’re like me lol) I myself switch off to normal talk (the way I’d talk to a friend) and it’s great too because it helps them have a better grasp of our language, and even prevents any speech delay or impediment. However, don’t get me wrong, baby talk is great!I love baby talk! But it’s like anything.. too much of anything is bad for us! So remember to switch up and just implement this way of talking throughout the day ☺👶👣

Reading to Your Baby

Okay so reading potentially goes hand-in-hand with communication with your baby!

Reading to them is essential! Honestly it’s what’s going to encourage/help them intellectually! 💪💕📚 It may sound strange, or unorthodox but even reading a people magazine issue works just as well! Disclaimer: **NOT INCLUDING ANY POSSIBLE INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT YOU WOULDN’T HAVE A CHILD READ OF COURSE** Reading to baby also brings you closer together as it’s a bond you provide as their caretaker, an educator.

Going For Walks

Yay! ONE of my favs… I usually take the carrier now [laughs] y’all know how much I love that multi-tasker! So yeah, taking the baby out for a stroll or in the carrier is a great way to get some fresh air in his/her lungs, get em’ out in the sun, and like I always say, them being aware of their environment is important! Not to mention it’s great excersise for us mom and dad!

Self-Care (mom and dad)

So as you know, it’s important to take care of yourself! What does this have to do with my child’s development? One might ask.. well prior to taking care of your LO, you need to be functioning well! Which means: eating right, exercise, and I would say getting enough sleep BUT uhh we’re parents! 😆 So ya know.. It’s kind of a package deal here going on haha. BUT eat well, TRY to sleep well and as for excersise in our busy lives/schedules as parents, walking is great. FACT: Walking has been shown to provide more payoff in excersise as opposed to running due to the unpredictability of speed! Isn’t that cool? 5 REAL Stuggles Parents Face That No One Talks About 🤔😩😆

• Hey, Kyanna again. Told ya i’d be back 😘 So for today’s topic I’m dipping into a more parent related subject [unlike my usual Baby updates 😊]

#1) Multi-tasked Caretaking As I call it lol.. Why? Well for those of you that are primary caretakers as well, I think you know what I’m getting at: specifically with trying to complete tasks around the house while looking after your precious one. As they’re crying, (mind you) you’re also trying to get situated with yourself all at once! Just YOU trying to get comfortable.. prior to grabbing them. Soothing them in time ESPECIALLY in a populated place with your friends or at a work related get-together with colleagues, etc. THEN taking her/him out of the stroller, picking them up while you’re cleaning, eating, and even holding a conversation. 😢😂 #2) True Colors BUT Hey! We’re parents! No worries right?At least that’s how it should be man.. [laughing] No No no.. That’s what our peers (friends, your parents, siblings, etc.) lead us to believe until the minute your beautiful LO arrives. And, soon after.. the so-called cool ones start lashing out on you. Or they try to school you on “tips” that of which might come off out of date, not credible, or just plain unorthodox. #3) The Cookie-Cutter Perfect Parent WELL We’re NOT given a parent manual. You’re not perfect, I’m certainly not either! God.. Don’t you just hate these Instagram and Facebook profiles illustrating these unrealistic standards? I mean, don’t get me wrong, although I myself enjoy this whole new lifestyle around parenting, I must admit sometimes it kinda sucks! Particularly residing our [for what seems like] competition. These clean-over-the-top-luxury-consistent-life-images… You know what I’m talking about. Come on parents. These roles/standards only hurt us in the end! I know it took at least 20 minutes to get him and/or her to pose AND THEN SOME–You capturing the perfect shot, perfect angle. Haha #4) Personal Hygene! AND Let’s not forget our precious ‘me’ time that never really well.. comes around. Now I dunno about you but, the bathroom is part of my alone time routine! SOO It’s kind of a mission. And when we can shower, time lasts as long as a song lmao! Relaxed showering whlist being a parent is a LUXURY! 🙃😂 [Hell, even utilizing our bathroom business is a luxury] ANND… #5) Cold Food GAHH This struggle hits pretty much throughout the whole day depending on how long they nap 😥😂 (considering mine is 9 months in a couple days). Otherwise, Avicus will start trying to grab my food, which of course indicates he’s hungry, then I have to feed him. CONCLUDING.. if we’re lucky, tasty hot meal here we come! ALL IN ALL These are at least 5 struggles new parents, young parents, older, ALL parents face that well, yeah… no one really talks about!! Avicus is Half a Year! ♈💖

Ayy my munchkin man! Today marks the spot Avicus turns 6 months. Course, did Messy days of solid foods begin! 😆

He makes me so happy. But my God, he is such a messy boy! 💗😍

Being a mom for 6 months has taught me well. I honestly couldn’t imagine the world without my son.. I’ve even have some hacks of my own if you will LOL such as:

Breastfeeding Hack #1

Now, when your baby is this tiny, (Avicus 1 month) baby tends to feel more attatched (especially when breast feeding) due to a ceratin smell according to http://www.womenshealth.gov,

• “Your baby can smell you. Newborns have a strong sense of smell and know the unique scent of your breast milk. That is why your baby will turn his or her head to you when he or she is hungry.” Not to mention, that scent that we moms carry give them a sense of security, and assurance. ☺

Breastfeeding Hack #2

not to mention its sooo easy (when they’re a little older of course lol) when getting to rest through the night! Haha 3 steps: adjust, latch, sleep, repeat. Done 😘

Breastfeeding Hack #3

One of my favorites. Though, it is similar to hack 2 😜 [laughing] anyway, so for this hack all you gotta do is hold baby in cradle position like you normally would, but instead this time slowly.. And surely.. gently lay him/her to your side laying down, make sure they’re on their side as well, slowly, they fall asleep (remember: its that comfort) then that’s where you start preparing to unlatch! Of course, immediately [once you do completely unlatch them] be sure to roll a fort of some sort (lol rhyme) but no seriously aha, we dont wouldn’t want the B-A-B-Y to have a mishap! So you know.. Roll that fort with at least 2 or a thick blanket. *that’s where the magic happens* Oh yeah, if you choose to (optional) input hack 1! 😏 trust hahaha

Let me tell you; there will be some days I get back from class and before I even step foot in our room, munchkin man and daddy will be laughing and making all this noise, and baby will be grabbing and trying to munch on dad! 😂 You gotta see it to see what I’m saying. They’re buddies. I love it.

So far, this 5 month mark has been a game changer! 😘😳🙊

Atm.. Avicus is finally down [11:48 pm]

Haha snuggle bud. Today we got him his new case of Huggies and now he’s size 4! Oh man… Parents don’t kid when we say time fliesss. 😭

My world ❤🌍

From his little coos to his bouncy legs, I can’t get enough of this experience. It may sound cheesy, but truthfully, let’s just say: he’s the light of my darkness…

[And that goes a long way. But for another time.]

Aside from him now saying Mom-mom, he sleeps more throughout the night! 😭❤😌🙌😂 Yesssss hahahah I am just especially happy to be able to say we are a lot more compatible as he gets older in age.

Quick breastfeeding FAQ: Feeding sessions are shorter. 🙂

– Of course, everything has the-in-between.

– Be sure to have a cover of some sort. Or even keeping eye contact with baby. (Also a great way to bond❤). Baby tends to get more distracted now that they are developing their body strength along with awareness to their surroundings. (I know my 5 month old is! 😂 lol)

My LO is growing rapidly!!

Noo.. 😭 how did this happen?? Haha he’s a crazy boy… Yesterday he said my name for the first time. Mom? No. Mama? Nope. Mommy? Guess again… Mom-mom. Hahahah I’m mom-mom! I of course let my emotions get the best of me and couldn’t help but tear up and also laugh. That’s my boy man.. You parents know what I mean when I say being a parent is the hardest but best job in the world. It’s.. rewarding. There’s no other best word to describe. Quite frankly having been a mom for these past five months has turned my life around. It’s truly a blessing. Its molded be to be the responsible mom, woman, and person I am today. Can’t picture life without him. Thank you for being my son Avicus, happy 5 months papa :”)
